Saturdays are my favorite. Ben let's me sleep in (even when our littlest monster climbs out of his crib at 7:50 am and joyfully waddles into our bedroom for some snuggles) on the weekends. I certainly don't deserve it...he wakes up earlier than I do on any given day. But, I think it's just another way he show's me that he loves me...he knows how much I love to sleep. We usually relax, take naps, snuggle, do some minor cleaning and straightening up, and just be.
This afternoon, while Aiden and I waited for the "big orange leaf truck" to come by and pick up all of our leaves...he told me a story. See, he has this friend named North. North has a girlfriend named Norsha. They are from China. He met North at the pizza shop. Well, Aiden, North, Norsha, and ten of their friends went to the beach. While they were swimming in the ocean they ran into a big snappy crab. But this crab was a nice crab, so Aiden just jumped over him. While they were out to sea, they found a treasure chest. They brought the treasure chest back to the sand. When they opened it up, they found gold...lots and lots of gold. But more important than gold, there was ice cream, cookies, and drinks! (thank goodness ;) ) After the beach, the group decided to go to Papa John's for some hot cheesy pepperoni pizza. Aiden wants me to meet his friend North, but unfortunately for me, North and Norsha had to go back to China. Bummer! They sure sound fun :)
As I sit here and type the savory smells of my Beef Stew are lingering into the livingroom...which reminds me...I've got to get back to preparing for our "halloween party" for three per Aiden's request.
This is why I *heart* Saturdays.
Later!
I love it when they make up stories, those are some sweet moments. :)

hehe. So pleased you are able to just be.. and enjoy aiden's imagination for a while. :) I am currently spending hours a week driving back and forth to the preschool (since we moved further away)... lochs has decided it is boring so i now do it riding a horse named nutbreak, whilst he rides Scarlet.. and we yeeehaw through traffic lights and chase motorcyclists. He is the Sheffif I am the deupty (figures!) and we are an incredible crime fighting duo... we even feed the horses the odd apple and oats for breakfast.
*sigh*
these days shall pass by too quickly for me.. i just know it.
